The Irish Times reports that at the Commercial Court yesterday, Ulster Bank were in action against two Dublin businessmen, William McHale and Aidan Morrison, and is seeking possession of 15 properties apparently used to secure €14m of loans. The application seeks possession on two properties in Grangegorman, Dublin; three apartments at Orchard Way, Greenwood Walk, Ayrfield, Malahide Road, Dublin; two apartments at Blackstick Priory, Patrick Street, Portarlington, Co Laois; two properties at The Oaks, Kilnacourt Wood, Portarlington; two properties at The Glen, Kilnacourt Wood, Portarlington; a property at Northview Close, Clonmel, Co Tipperary and a property at Hollybank Road, Drumcondra, Dublin, “The Moorings”, The Strand, Malahide, a property at Orwell Park Heights, Templeogue, Co Dublin, and an apartment at Blackstick Priory, Patrick Street, Portarlington.
The case itself was adjourned for two weeks by the indefatigable Mr Justice Peter Kelly to allow the defendants to put proposals to the bank. The case might also be noteworthy for one of the defendants being absent due to visit to a hospital for a procedure to his foot. According to the article “The court would not just humour a defendant on their whim where that defendant was not available for service and not in court because of a pain in his foot, he [Mr Justice Peter Kelly] remarked.”
