Here is one State agency that funded legal action over three years to stop itself being classified as a public body. The costs will be steep and you and I are footing them. It looks dreadful for NAMA because the perception is the Agency has tried to protect its secretive operations from prying eyes, and it lost.”

In something like a healthy, normal democracy with real respect for the rule of law, it would be a disaster. In Ireland, no-one will give a tuppenny ****. Agents of the State have been getting their rears handed to them in judicial review proceedings on a regular basis in this country for the most egregious unlawfulness, having spent small fortunes on futile defences of the indefensible, for years, and it doesn’t seem to make a blind bit of difference.
