I would like to know how a person with assets in Ireland can be declared bankrupt in England or anywhere else.

If bankrupt abroad are there no aftereffects like a black mark against one’s credit rating here in Ireland.

Fatima could be a house name. In Ireland, unfortunately, lots of one-off houses do not have a number. They may be within a mile of a town centre, but they don’t have a unique address. Some people give a name to their house, perhaps to identify it along a road of many un-numbered houses.

Have found a number of errors on this spreadsheet involving a Person B.A Carron with an Address given being Fatima Glencar Letterkenny.Co Donegal.No such place in or around letterkenny

Another way of looking at it is that he’s asking the UK authorities to have their bankruptcy service officials to actually properly apply the COMI rules properly, rather than simply waving everyone through the gap and leaving it up to creditors to launch expensive legal challenges. This is bourne out by the examples you go on to cite. It’s a vain hope on Shatter’s part, though, why would/should British civil servants give a mickey one way or another?

We won’t see a commencement order on the PIA 2012 until the dopes in Kildare Street get another kick from the troika.

Do the Insolvency agencies in UK Provide any background on the persons involved.
Take B.ACarron with an address in Donegal.Dont even think that address exists.

I repeat what I said at the very beginning of this fiasco – before it is over 70% of NAMA’s “developers” will have declared bankruptcy. Most of them in the UK. It’s inevitable. To paraphrase Ray Grehan – It is the only way to get them off your back, which is where they would be for the next 10 years looking for anything you might make, and begin afresh.
